A Great Public Defender, Stu Sugarman, died unexpectedly. We mourn with his friends, family, and the community at large. He helped make those of us who were out on the front lines in the 90s and 00s feel safe, at a time when almost everything else was making us feel like targets, like the work we were doing to create a world that we wanted to live in was useless and stupid. Thank you for that, always. Rest in Power.
Thanks to Renaissance the Poet and photographer Susan Fried! It was such a pleasure to see this photo and TShirt on the cover of The Skanner!
Thanks to all who attended our one year anniversary! We really appreciate all the support and we could not have done the film or had the film go as far without such a fantastic community. We honor and appreciate you!

We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a contract with Portland's Collective Eye Films, an educational film distribution company. Beginning this fall, Collective Eye will distribute our film as a DVD and digitally to libraries, archives, universities, colleges and K-12 schools. We are deep in DVD production this summer, and we're excited that Arresting Power will reach new audiences this way. The DVD will also be available for home use through Collective Eye and through our own site. We will also work with Collective Eye to schedule more community screenings and dialogue events.
